Although the Tesla is the hot new electric car of the world, the Tesla is far from the first electric car on the road. Even long before the GM EV1 was a thing, there were electric cars made before. The Baker Electric is one of the first official electric cars in the world, and Jay Leno is the proud owner of it (via Top Speed).

When you look at the Baker Electric, you see a car that closely resembles the other cars from this era. Its compact design and cramped interior are the most obvious things you’ll notice about this car. Leno has kept his Baker Electric in fairly original condition and the car has a high valuation on it.

7: 1914 Detroit Electric

In addition to the Baker Electric he owns, Leno also owns a 1914 Detroit Electric. Another interesting electric car from the early days of automotive innovation, the 1914 Detroit Electric, was well-built and popular.
