Celebrities Wasted Tons Of Money On These Hideous Cars

Cameron Eittreim November 11, 2022

They say money and sense don’t always go hand in hand, and that’s the case with celebrity car collections. Celebrities are not the most financially sound people, and they tend to splurge on some crazy purchases. Take Paris Hilton for instance, with her steady stream of diamond-studded pink Bentley Continental models over the past decade. Migos rapper Takeoff was particularly proud of his car collection, which included a Maserati Gran Turismo and a Mercedes C63 AMG. But then other celebrities have chosen a non-traditional path for their vehicles, such as Jamie Foxx with his Rezvani Tank.

The ability to buy whatever you want is alluring at first until you waste the money on something stupid. That’s the case with most celebrities who have blown their fortunes on junk. Some of the cars in this list are downright atrocities, and yet the owners are proud to own them. Nothing’s worse than an ugly car, and some of these celebrities have taken ugly to a whole new level. A custom vehicle is a work of art but in the case of these celebrities, that art form went a little too far.

Takeoff’s Neon Lamborghini

We’re not sure about this Lamborghini Aventador. The car was ruined compared to the beautiful factory example it once was. A bright purple paint job covered in graffiti is the first thing you’ll see when the car hits the road. The worst thing about it is that it glows in the dark. For some people, the paint job might be worth considering, but it ruined the look of an elite sports car.

Not exactly a smart use of hundreds of thousands of dollars, but then again star rappers were never known for financial responsibility. This Lamborghini is a prime example of what you don’t want to do with a top-shelf sports car. The final product was so ugly that many Lambo enthusiasts would never be caught dead driving it.

Justin Bieber’s Chrome Fisker Karma

Justin Bieber has never been the most frugal person in terms of his immense wealth. And that couldn’t have been more obvious than when he purchased a Fisker Karma and painted it chrome. The Fisker was one of the first all-electric vehicles sold to the mainstream public and was popular among celebrities. Fisker went out of business, but there are still a few celebrities, including Bieber, who still own one of the original Fisker Karma models.

Bieber was the first celebrity to paint his car chrome and it started a trend. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a trend that the Los Angeles Police Department was happy with. Bieber found himself in trouble with the law more than once, and it was usually because his car was bright chrome.

Nicki Minaj’s Lambo

Minaj was one of the biggest success stories of the mid-2000s music scene. For a short period, it seemed like every single she was featured on was a hit. This success also contributed to a massive net worth of $100 million and spending habits like no other. Minaj is known to be fond of the color pink, so much so that the singer commissioned a custom pink Lamborghini Aventador. For a short period, the Aventador was the fastest-production Lamborghini that you could get.

The pink Aventador was one of the first models released and showcased a set of Forgiato wheels. On the interior, the car was pretty much stock, as it was the exterior that Minaj focused on. The Aventador was one of the best-performing sports cars Lamborghini released, yet decking it out in pink ruined the appeal.

Austin Mahone – BMW i8

The BMW i8 was a notable sports car, as it was the first dedicated exotic since the 850i sports car. The I8 was an extremely fast sports car and appealed to celebrities. Mahone went a different route, with a rusted-wrapped look instead. The results completely ruined the visual appeal of the expensive car. The gold rims were a nice touch, but they didn’t take away from the fact that the rest of the car was hideous looking.

The I8 was one of the best sports cars BMW has ever sold, but the ugly styling used by Mahone on it was just sad. Celebrities can certainly do whatever they want to their cars, as was the case here. There was no reason someone should have ruined a car as badly as Mahone ruined this I8. When it came to beautiful car designs of the late 2000s, BMW was ahead of the curve with the I8.

Will.I.Am – Custom DeLorean

Will.I.Am is one of the best music producers in the industry, and as such his net worth has ballooned to an extraordinary amount of money. This means the producer can pretty much buy anything he wants in life, including a custom DeLorean. The DeLorean built by the West Coast Customs was completely changed inside and out from the original car. The original DeLorean was one of the most iconic and beautiful cars ever made, so why would you want to ruin it?

The sad part about this DeLorean was that it was a far cry from the unique design of the original car. Will.I.Am built himself a modern sports car and that wasn’t what the DeLorean was. The car was always intended and designed to be unique, which is why it gained such a following over the years.

Dennis Rodman – H1 Hummer

Dennis Rodman is another celebrity who has had his fair share of the limelight, but his penchant for spending and showing off was on another level. Rodman went for a graffiti-style paint job on his H1 Hummer, which looked like something that came out of a ’90s video game. The styling was ugly and ruined the muscular styling of the H1. The H1 was an iconic SUV, one that’s still popular with certain consumers today, so there was no need to ruin it.

Rodman spent a lot of money on this obscene Hummer but also took a massive loss on it. This ugly excuse for an H1 was sold at auction in 2015 for $55,000. That’s quite the far cry from the price tag Rodman purchased the SUV for and the amount of money he spent on modifications.

Will.I.Am – Tesla Model S

We’ve covered Will. I.Am’s perfectly hideous DeLorean, but did you know that the music producer owns a few ugly cars? His Tesla Model S was a completely modified take on the original. Once again, he went for an all-white theme, and oddly enough, the Model S resembles a Kia Optima more than an original design. We can see that Will.I.Am likes to go for a white futuristic look, but on the Model S, it didn’t work how he hoped for.

The Model S wasn’t a good-looking car by any stretch of the imagination, and the first-generation models were the ugliest. Why on earth Will.I.Am spent his money modifying this car is a mystery. The amount of money he spent on body modification alone was hideously expensive.

Xzibit – Lamborghini Gallardo

Xzibit claimed fame as a rapper and then host of the popular TV show Pimp My Ride. Unlike many other rappers, Xzibit tends to have fun with the designs of his custom cars. But the Lamborghini Gallardo he dubbed the Gumball 3000 was ugly, covered in stickers, and painted black. Xzibit owns quite a few custom cars but his Gumball 3000 Lamborghini was perhaps the ugliest one in the collection. And coming from a rapper who hosted one of the most popular automotive shows on TV, this was a letdown.

The Gallardo was one of the most popular Lamborghini models in the early 2000s. But the stock styling of the car was already extreme enough and it didn’t need any help from Xzibit. The fact that he coated the car in stickers and vinyl didn’t do anything for the styling or performance of the car.

Jake Paul – Ford Focus

Paul has made a name for himself in professional boxing and the YouTube world. One of the most notable toys Paul ever got was the Ford Focus he had custom designed. The most notable thing about the car is the multi-colored camo wrap on the exterior. Coming from a popular Youtuber, there’s no surprise that he’d decided to make his Focus look like this monstrosity.

The Focus was designed around the style of the rally cars, but the paint job is downright ugly. Coupled with the oversized wing and cheap rims, there was nothing remotely stylish about this Focus. There are better cars that could have been designed by someone with the net worth of Paul.

Justin Bieber – Audi R8

Bieber has found himself on our list again, but this time it’s for his monstrosity of an Audi R8. The R8 was a great sports car released by Audi after years of development, and what did the rich young singer decide to do to it? Well, he decided to wrap the car in a leopard print paint job that looked downright ugly. The leopard print paint job did nothing to contribute to the performance of the car and it wasn’t good-looking either.

Let’s just say Bieber is not the most favorite person at Audi headquarters as he’s mutilated two great cars. Having money is something that most people dream about until they just waste it on frivolous details. The R8 was a legendary sports car, and there was nothing else that looked like it on the road.

Jamie Foxx – Rezvani Tank

Foxx is one of the most well-known comedians and actors around, so it only makes sense that he has a massive net worth of $170 Million. What would most people do with $170 Million? Probably buy a bunch of random vehicles, which is what Foxx did. One such vehicle is the Rezvani Tank, which was one of the rarest and most obscene-looking vehicles on the road. The first thing you’ll notice about the Rezvani Tank was that it’s a bulletproof SUV.

Foxx has paraded his Revani Tank everywhere you can imagine, even showcasing the vehicle in Jay Leno’s Garage. But the styling of the Rezvani is downright hideous to look at. Just the rear-end styling alone was enough to make the average consumer cringe, and the high price tag doesn’t help things out.

Deadmau5 – Nyan Cat Ferrari

What happens when you are a worldwide dance music sensation and DJ? Well, naturally you spend a lot of your money on flashy items like custom vehicles, and that’s what Deadmau5 did. But he wasted his money on something that looks so ugly that no sane person would even consider driving it. The Nyan Cat Ferrari took a beautiful Ferrari and made it into a travesty of what the car once was and Deadmau5 was proud of it.

The Deadmau5 Ferrari was just a small example of what happens when a wild celebrity gets a boatload of money. The Nyan cat paint job was nothing that the average consumer would be interested in. The worst part is the car stands out so well that the celebrity who’s driving it would never get by quietly.

Britney Spears – Hummer H2

Britney Spears has a net worth of $70 million, so naturally, she’s spent her money on whatever she wants. The lifted pink Hummer H2 that she owns was featured in the “Do Something” music video. The truck has a massive 9-inch lift and big chrome wheels to accent the incredibly pink paint job. The H2 was a far cry from the handsome factory models sold at the time. Like most celebrities from this era, Spears wanted to go with a bright pink paint job.

Many other celebrities decided to blast their rides with pink paint jobs. Paris Hilton comes to mind first. But Spears went a different route, with a radical off-road model as opposed to a Bentley or something flashier. The lifted pink H2 was remarkably ugly considering it was decked out in pink and chrome.

Hulk Hogan – Dodge Viper RT

Hulk Hogan is known for being one of the most famous wrestlers in the world, but he’s also been known for his stellar car collection. While he owns a lot of unique, great cars such as the Supra Turbo and the Yellow Fever edition Dodge Ram, he also has some ugly rides. This red and yellow Viper is a prime example of a theme gone wrong. Hogan was going to a vehicular version of his wrestling trunks and the result was something that no sane person would ever drive (via Reddit).

The Dodge Viper itself was a great-looking car, but to do this kind of obscene mess to the paint job just didn’t make any sense. The Hogan Viper is a prime example of what happens when you make too much money and waste it. The car was so ugly that most Viper enthusiasts don’t even consider it at car shows.

Will.I.Am – Volkswagen Beetle

Will.I.Am hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to spending money on ugly-looking cars, and his Volkswagen Beetle is another example of this. Will spent a good amount of money on the Beetle to have it built to his specifications. The look of the car closely resembled a classic hot rod more than anything. The styling of the car was one of the ugliest setups on a Volkswagen Beetle, and another example of why Will. I.Am should stop wasting his money (via Luxury Launches).

Will.I.Am has several weird-looking cars that he has badly built for him and the Beetle is by far one of the strangest. There were easier ways that the music producer could have found a hot rod. The Beetle experiment shows you that with money, you can have just about any monstrosity built.

Kanye West – Lamborghini Aventador

Kanye, or Ye, has been in the news a lot lately, and much of that is because of the fact that he’s a billionaire. He loves to spend money, and his car collection is one of the most well-known around. Between his cars and the rest of the Kardashian clan, he has quite the collection under his belt. But he has also done some strange things to his cars as he did with the Aventador. With a flat black paint job, the Aventador looks like it has been spray painted with a rattle can.

The Aventador itself was an amazing exotic sports car that broke all kinds of speed records. The factory paint jobs that the Aventador came in were beautiful and colorful. Nevertheless, someone like Kanye, who considers himself an artist, will paint the car however he feels like.

Zac Efron – Ford Mustang

Efron was a cornerstone of the early 2000s Disney lineup, especially when he hit his stride in the hit movie series High School Musical. But Efron was one of the few child actors who could branch his career into a full-time movie career as an adult, and he has been in many hit movies as of late. His car collection is nothing too out of the ordinary, but his Ford Mustang is perhaps the most curious addition because of how strange the design was.

Efron stated he restored the Mustang in honor of his grandfather, but the design is bland, to say the least. The utilitarian wheels are nothing like what the car originally came with from the factory. The flat black paint job is not a factory color and gave the car a hideously strange look compared to other Mustangs from this era.

Khloe Kardashian – Land Rover Range Rover

The Kardashian clan is no stranger to out-of-the-ordinary luxury, but Khloe took things a bit too far. The superstar decided that it was time to wrap her Range Rover SUV in a velvet car wrap. The result was an SUV that looked out of the ordinary and quite ugly. There is no functional reason to have a car wrapped in velvet, not to mention the high upkeep.

There aren’t many attributes that make the Velvet Range Rover an attractive car, at least none that we can find. There are so many better options for painting the exterior of an SUV. The Range Rover was such a high-dollar item and a piece of luxury that most owners generally don’t ruin or deface with such an ugly design.

Zach Randolph – Chevrolet Impala

Randolph played professionally in the NBA since the 2001 season, and with that kind of experience he built up a reasonable net worth. The Impala was one of the most well-designed cars that came out of GM, so it’s mind-boggling that someone would do the things Randolph did to his Impala.

Randolph has been a popular NBA player, which is why he was able to afford all the great cars he had in his collection. But this Impala was not his best project when it came to building a custom car. The donk style is limited in custom car design, and it takes away from the original style of the car.

Paris Hilton – Pink Bentley

Paris Hilton was the original queen of flash, and she was also one of the first celebrities to slap a pink paint job on a Bentley. But Hilton didn’t just stop there, she also had the shifter knob encrusted with diamonds. Opulence doesn’t stop there, as Hilton decided to add an oversized pair of pink 26-inch rims to the car. The Pink Bentley was the topic of many conversations when Hilton first unveiled it, but nowadays celebrities do all kinds of flashy things with cars.

Hilton still owns the pink Bentley to this day, in addition to a few other very ostentatious cars. But the Bentley was the one that started the fad of celebrities going way over the top with their rides. It was at a time when pop culture was changing and celebrities were moving more toward the influencer side of things.

Juan Uribe – Porsche Cayenne

Uribe was a well-known baseball player, so it’s no surprise that he’d take some of his net worth and purchase a custom car. The Porsche Cayenne changed the game when it was released as it was the first high-performance SUV. Long before there was the Lamborghini URUS or the Maserati offerings, there was the Porsche Cayenne. Unfortunately, he took the idea of designing his car a bit too far, and the result came out questionable.

The Cayenne from the factory was a good-looking SUV, it didn’t need a lot of modification. Uribe added a transformer-style front and rear bumper and white accented headlights that just don’t look right. Then you throw in the ugly black rims with low-profile tires, and the Cayenne has been ruined.

Darren McFadden – Buick Centurion

Darren McFadden was a popular NFL player during his generation. He was also one of the members of the bling generation, and thus enjoys spending money. Although his NFL career didn’t last very long, the star was able to purchase more than a few custom cars. The most notable vehicle in his collection was the barney purple Buick Centurion Donk, supplemented with bright green 35″ rims to finish things off.

Donks are notoriously bad cars to own and part of that blame comes from the suspension. A donk is tough to drive in normal circumstances, and when you add all the dumb stuff, it’s even worse. McFadden wasn’t smart when he wasted his money on this awful excuse for a car that looks bad and drives even worse.

Chris Brown – Lamborghini Aventador

When Chris Brown isn’t busy being featured on hit tracks he’s spending his money on cars, and the ugliest one in his collection has to be the Lamborghini Aventador. The first and main problem with this car was the oversized wide-body kits. Then the two-tone paint job was equally troubling and gave the car a hideous look. Brown has been known to go a little overboard when it comes to his vehicles and in life, so it’s no surprise here.

The Aventador has been the favorite of almost every celebrity you’ll come across. But some of the things that they’ve done to this great exotic car are jaw-dropping. Chris Brown has the money to do anything he wants to, but the Aventador is one example of something that should have been avoided.

Snooki – Cadillac Escalade

Snooki was an influencer before being an influencer was even popular, and fans followed just about everything that she did. Her taste in cars was also flashy as she was one of the first female celebrities with an Escalade. Although the method by which she went to design her Escalade was questionable at best. The flat black paint job coupled with ugly black and pink rims did nothing for the look of the car. If that wasn’t the worst part of the car the rhinestone Snooki badge on the tailgate finished it off.

Surprisingly enough, not everybody felt that the Escalade was a bad truck, it sold at auction in 2011 for a whopping $77,000. A lot of that had to do with the notoriety of Snooki herself. But from an enthusiast’s perspective, the Snooki Escalade was an ugly vehicle that could have been designed way better.

Sonny & Cher – Ford Mustangs

Surprisingly enough Sonny & Cher was two of the first celebrities to ruin a perfectly good car they ruined a pair of them. The duo commissioned a pair of his and her Mustangs that were completely different than the factory car. The Cher model was pink with a completely different front to the factory car. Sonny also got a custom Mustang but his one was a two-tone brown color that looked like it rolled out of a 1970s kitchen.

That’s not to say the Mustangs were entirely bad, as the legendary George Burris built the two cars. But it just wasn’t enough to take away from the fact that they were ugly. The Mustang was a great-looking car from the factory and it became an iconic part of automotive history. These cars were a far cry from what the Mustang should and could be, and that’s why Sonny and Cher take the cake when it comes to ruining a car.
