29: Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder
One of the rarest models that we’ve seen from Chevy during the 1960s was the Corvair Monza Spyder. The unique-looking car was an affordable consumer version of something that resembled the Corvette at the time. The performance wasn’t on the same level as the Corvette, which was a letdown for many consumers. Nevertheless, the styling was quite ahead at the time and a departure from what the lineup already had available. Convertibles were just beginning to soar in popularity and the Monza was at the forefront.

Unfortunately, the Corvair had a lot of reliability issues in addition to a cheap design. This didn’t bold well for the massive attention and hype that had surrounded the car. Although the Corvair Monza was a dream car for many it just didn’t live up to the expectations. The sales were abysmal and you don’t see these on the road very often anymore.
