33: VW Microbus
Another dream car for many people is the VW Microbus, which was one of the most iconic cars of the hippie era. The design of the microbus offered an enormous amount of interior space, which was in line with most vans at the time. The T1 and T2 both used an air-cooled rear-mounted engine, which as time went on was not the most reliable choice for a van. On top of the intricate maintenance that the van required these were also prone to rust. The Microbus has become quite the collector’s item in the recent decade.

The Microbus was an iconic vehicle with a lot of history, and it propelled Volkswagen to the popular car maker that you see today. Few vans have been as iconic as the Microbus, although the Plymouth Voyager was a quick second later on. Still, when you think about the hippie era there is no doubt that the Microbus comes to mind. Volkswagen had a knack for creating popular cult-like cars back in the day and the Microbus was one of these vehicles.
