38: Corvette 305 “California” (1980)
Performance cars of the 1980s were painfully affected by the decade’s emissions regulations. The GM family of V8 performance cars was especially affected by this, and the Corvette was the first victim. The 305 “California” edition had all of the new emissions equipment bolted onto the engine and they made the car painfully slow. Gone was the spirited performance of the past, instead, the Corvette was now a slug.

Its 180 HP was shameful at best and one of the lowest points in the history of the Corvette. There’s nothing nice about the sports cars from the 1980s that had to suffer through these emissions regulations. Finding a Corvette “California” edition isn’t what you’d call a remarkable find.
