One of the biggest surprises for 2018 was the new Kia Stinger. The Korean brand introduced a genuinely good looking, fast, powerful, and affordable sports sedan. Kia has made the perfect BMW since they have moved on to more luxurious, heavier, and more expensive models.
The Stinger has a rear-wheel drive and an optional all-wheel-drive, which is new for Kia’s non-SUV models. Under the hood, there are two engines. The turbocharged four-cylinder delivers 255 HP and the twin-turbo V6 pumps out 365 HP.
For years, Cadillac was without a proper performance series to compete with BMW or Mercedes. But finally, the V-Series was born. It was all that Cadillac lovers dreamed of with its powerful engine, world-class handling, suspension setups, and exclusive production. Arguably the most successful was the second-generation CTS-V model they produced between 2008 and 2014. One typical small and affordable performance car is the Subaru BRZ. This little sports coupe comes with a signature flat-four naturally aspirated engine that produces 205 HP out of 2.0 liters. The BRZ is a light and nimble coupe and the secret is in the position of the engine. Since Subaru uses flat-four engines, the center of gravity is lower than with regular inline four cylinders.
