The automotive industry is an ever-changing landscape full of new vehicles vying for supremacy. Performance is a major part of the cutthroat business. Because consumers at their core want to have fun when they drive, enjoying the driving experience has become more of a focus with today’s modern generation of vehicles. More standard features are being included than ever before and cars have much more power.

Cars have also become a much more expensive investment, oftentimes rivaling the cost of a home. Whether you are a die-hard V8 fanatic or an automotive historian, there is no doubt that the last decade has been a crucial one. Driving a fast car is an exhilarating experience, and then there has been an astonishing amount of progress in the development of sports cars. Sports cars are precision-designed machines, and the last decade has been full of great examples. 25. Lamborghini URUS

The Urus was a new concept for Lamborghini. The brand introduced an SUV that was affectionately known as the “Rambo Lambo” back in the 80s. The Urus, on the other hand, is not so extreme. The exterior styling is contemporary and screams Lamborghini. The brand was influenced by Maserati and Porsche entering the superpowered SUV race. With the Urus clocking a 0-60 time of an astonishing 3.1 seconds, very few cars can match this.

Interior-wise, the Urus is still functional enough for a growing family. With five-passenger seating and a large cargo hatch, you still have the benefit of an SUV. It should also be noted that the Urus is capable off-road as well. The AWD version will set you back a little bit extra, but it’s well worth the cost of admission.

Things have been going quite well for the trademark Chevy. The Corvette has been the flagship car of GM performance for 50 years. The 2020 version is going to be hitting the road with a brand-new design. The Corvette finally wants to take on the performance cars of the world in a real way. This will be the first-ever Corvette to feature a mid-engine design. Aside from that, the 0-60 time is a whopping 2.8 seconds. This puts the Corvette in serious supercar territory. Breaking land speed records is something that every supercar manufacturer strives for. The Agera RS is a fairly rare supercar that managed to break a few records. First, the Agera RS hit a two-way average top speed of 447.2 km/h (277.9 mph). This was GPS verified, which means that the Agera RS was averaging these speeds. To ensure that the car was up to spec the company also tested a straight-line speed of 457.94 km/h (284.55 mph). The Agera is perhaps one of the most iconic supercars that you haven’t heard about.

Production of the Agera RS ended in 2018 and the production cycle was very limited. To get your hands on one of these is difficult, as they were snapped up by collectors. The Agera RS is also not street legal in America.

The race to make the first electric supercar is in full swing. Tesla isn’t the only player in the marketplace, and Rimac looks to show off its product. Rimac Concept Two is an electric supercar that was able to achieve an astonishing amount of speed. The 258 mph (claimed) by Rimac is among one of the fastest straight-line speeds in the world. Nevermind the fact that there are gasoline-powered supercars that can’t even match this top speed.

With a very limited production cycle and a price tag of $980,000, owning a Rimac Concept Two is not a cheap proposition. The interesting design elements and the high speed make the Rimac Concept Two a surprisingly worthwhile supercar.

6. SSC Ultimate Aero

The SSC Ultimate Aero was a hypercar that stayed in production from 2006 to 2013. You generally don’t hear a lot about this car because the price tag was rather high. Still, the Ultimate Aero achieved a top speed of 256 mph and that is nothing balk at. The Ultimate Aero was designed by a team who made it their mission to finish a supercar. The interesting styling of the Ultimate Aero made it a stand out choice among a crowded sea of supercars.
