36. Panoz Roadster
Younger enthusiasts don’t remember the Panoz. But back in the ’90s, this company was one of the most famous limited-production American brands out there. Successful in racing, Panoz was a brand that offered racing technology for street-legal vehicles. And that’s what made them favorites with fans of performance driving.
Panoz presented their Roadster model in the early ‘90s. It was a modern-day version of the legendary Shelby Cobra. It was a stripped-down open-top two-seater built out of aluminum to keep the weight down. Interestingly, Panoz used a lot of Ford Mustang components including the engine, drivetrain, and suspension. That helped the Panoz Roadster produce a whopping 300 HP to deliver brutal performance.
