24. 1967 Ford Mustang GTA
1967 marked the first restyling for the Mustang range. The car became slightly wider and longer. It was ready to accommodate more engines and provide more performance to its owners. The GT models were included in the lineup. Ford offered a new engine (390 cid from Thunderbird) but also discontinued the 289 HiPo during the 1967 model year.

Interestingly, you could get two GT models for 1967 and 1968. One was GT with 289 or 390 cid engine, and the other was GTA with the same engines but automatic transmission (via Motor Trend). The 289 delivered 230 hp and was a popular choice.
