1965 Chevy Impala “Impostor”
The 1965 Impala was one of the most favored years in the car’s storied history. Its sleek body style and excellent performance made the car something that just about everyone wanted to own. The 1965 Impala had an aggressive look to it even straight from the factory. It took hot rodders from the time to add all the unique aspects that they did. The original car was also very heavily involved in the lowrider scene, which is what most of these classic models have been turned into (via Macs Motorcity Garage).
But every once in a while, you’ll have someone like Foose decide to take the car in a new direction. Unfortunately the “Imposter” wasn’t his best work in any sense. The 1965 Impala was already an iconic car and it didn’t need a modern take to make it cool. This car was far too over-the-top for the average Impala enthusiast which is why most fans didn’t approve of it.
