For almost a decade, Tesla cars have been the talk of the car enthusiasts and automobile public all over the world. Tesla is the only company which concentrates solely on electric cars and has produced four models so far. Tesla Roadster, Model S, Model X and recently introduced Model 3 have all captured the imagination of the people.
However, with this popularity comes a great deal of controversies. Not just about the company`s owner, Elon Musk, but also about the cars, designing and manufacturing process, and marketing. It looks like Tesla clashed with basic rules of car building business and tries to introduce a new approach not only to driving but also to selling and repairing the cars.
Most customers are interested in those cars but very few are impressed and almost all people are a bit skeptical about the whole electric car thing. This is totally understandable since electric vehicles are a big leap forward and market needs some time to adjust. So far, you have only been told the advantages of Tesla cars but today we will tell you 20 things why you shouldn’t buy Model S, Model X or Model 3. This is the stuff you have to know if you are considering an electric vehicle and thing that could be a deal breaker. So, let`s go.
More energy consumption during highway driving
Amongst some other strange things, you will notice when you start driving the electric cars is the fact that the car`s range is alarmingly small in highway driving. This is totally opposite from gasoline engines which have the best fuel economy on highways and long stretches of open roads.
The reason is simple; Tesla (as all-electric cars) uses regenerative braking to recharge the battery and since there isn’t much braking on the highway, the battery rarely gets recharged and the range is small.
