17. Peugeot 405
In the late ‘80s, the Peugeot 405 was one of the best European mid-size sedans. It came with modern styling, nice performance, and lots of cool features. It sold incredibly well, and they exported them all over the world. In 1988, Peugeot offered this car on the American market, including a hot 405 Mi16 version and a station wagon.

With an affordable price, French styling, decent performance, and nice features, it should be a success. However, in a few years, they sold just around 4,000 examples and in 1991, Peugeot pulled it from the American market for good.
