Despite the fact that the advertised power of the early ‘30s Ford V8 was just 65 HP, it was significantly more than any of their competitors. The V8 is what turned Ford’s four doors into real performance machines for the masses. When those early hot rodders got a hold of those engines, the power rose to over 150 HP.

They transformed those ordinary sedans into blisteringly fast cars by the standards of the day. And that is why those ‘30s V8-powered Fords were the favorite transportation of those legendary gangsters and bootleggers.
