The combination of practicality, affordability and tough looks seems to appeal to the widest portion of the car buying public and the result is millions and millions of such cars on the road.

The trend started in the `90s and exploded in 2010s although the first SUV models were produced in the `60s. So, for hundreds of different models have been introduced and although there are dozens of very popular ones, there are a lot of SUVs that buyers totally forgot. 1. Daihatsu Rocky

The initial success of Suzuki Samurai in the States inspired Daihatsu to offer similar compact SUV on American soil. However, despite the fact that the Rocky was great little off-road SUV it simply failed to sell as well as the company hoped it will. Yes, it was small and capable but it lacked the power of Jeep Wrangler. On the other hand, the market slowly moved towards bigger and more luxurious models and Rocky was simply not enough.
